Event Description
In this Google Cloud Platform (GCP) immersion session, you will get an overview of the GCP services available in various categories, followed by hands-on examples of creating and deploying your workloads in the cloud. Learn how to work with Big Data and Machine Learning options available on GCP in the afternoon.

10:00-11:30 AM (presentation)
Overview of Google Cloud Platform

12:30-2:00 PM (hands-on exercise)
Big Data and Machine Learning on Google Cloud: This module explores the key components of Google Cloud's infrastructure. We introduce many of the big data and machine learning products and services that support the data-to AI lifecycle on Google Cloud.

2:30-4:00 PM (hands-on exercise)
Machine Learning Options on Google Cloud: This module explores four different options to build machine learning models on Google Cloud. It also introduces Vertex AI, Google's unified platform for building and managing the lifecycle of ML projects.

Target audience: Researchers looking to learn about cloud computing and options for machine learning in the cloud.

Learning objectives: Participants will come away with an overall understanding of GCP and have gained hands-on experience with machine learning workflows on GCP.

Knowledge prerequisites: Some knowledge of machine learning would be beneficial.

Hardware/software prerequisites: Bring a laptop and power cable. All hands-on exercises can be done using a web browser.
