Event Description
This workshop will provide a general introduction to the MATLAB environment. Topics include the basic components of the MATLAB interface (editor, terminal, workspace, directory, etc.), variables, matrix operations, file operations, making plots, working with functions, and environment settings.

Target audience: Researchers that are interested in getting started with MATLAB.

Learning objectives: Be able to start using MATLAB for your research and be aware of the best learning resources available.

Knowledge prerequisites: Basic Linux and some experience with a scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python, R).

Hardware/software prerequisites: Bring a laptop which can connect to the eduroam wireless network. There are two options for using MATLAB: (1) install MATLAB on your laptop (https://www.mathworks.com/academia/tah-portal/princeton-university-2964…) or (2) register for an account on Adroit: https://bit.ly/3wicSaH (VPN required if off-campus) and use MyAdroit (https://researchcomputing.princeton.edu/support/knowledge-base/matlab).
