Highlights

Advanced Data and Storage Management

  • In June, a milestone 100th managed project was created in TigerData, 71 have been created since January.
  • The TigerData request form has been enhanced to allow Globus collection requests. You can find the form on our Get Started page.
  • TigerData successfully upgraded MediaFlux to the most recent version on June 10th.
  • Installation of the 127PB tape library for 2nd copy offsite storage is in progress and will be functional this summer.
  • The Advanced Data team continues  to create new projects, migrate data into TigerData, and manage data movement strategies and best practices. To request a new project, please fill out the form at the bottom of our Get Started page.

Advanced Systems

  • Citadel is Princeton’s secure research environment, designed to support projects involving highly sensitive or regulated data. It offers secure virtual machines, protected storage, and controlled access to meet rigorous compliance and data stewardship requirements. Tenancy in Citadel is granted through approval by the Citadel Steering Committee.
    • We’re excited to announce that the platform will be upgraded over the summer to a secure, GPU-enabled high-performance cluster—expanding its capabilities for data-intensive research.

Researcher Engagement

  • Shape visualization services at Princeton—take our 5-min survey! Our visualization team is looking for input from faculty, staff and students to help inform the design of services, tools and workshops that best meet the community’s visualization needs.
  • We offer 6 hours of Help Sessions for students, staff, and faculty each week, including customized training for individuals, groups, labs, or classes on a broad range of topics by request. Contact us at [email protected]

Research Software Engineering

  • The RSE Rover Program launched recently and is accepting project proposals on a rolling basis. This new program is designed to facilitate RSE support for short-term (typically 3-9 months in duration) research software development projects. Visit the RSE Rover Program webpage for further details, including program goals, eligibility, project proposal evaluation criteria, and the brief webform for submitting project proposals.
  • Visit our How to Work with an RSE webpage for information on other short- and long-term paths to RSE support.
